Formerly known as the Laidong Salt Fields during the Qing Dynasty, the Jingzaijiao Tile-paved Salt Fields, with a history of over two hundred years, are recognized as the only and oldest manually sun-dried salt fields in Taiwan. They insist on producing salt using the traditional ancient method of “San Bao Jiu Shai”, literally referring to “three rounds of sun exposure and nine sun-drying cycles”, to showcase the beauty of the culture of sun-drying salt.
